In the very heart of stunning Chianti, this large, L-shaped old farmhouse was recently converted to create three rather fine villas. Each comfortable, well equipped villa has its own shaded dining table outdoors. And no matter where you might be sitting, the views are all magnificent!
The idea is that you might want to take all three villas for a holiday offering togetherness for a large group of friends or family - but with plenty of space for privacy too! Or you could simply book one of the villas for a truly Tuscan experience, knowing you'll find like-minded, Tuscany enthusiasts down by the pool. There's space in the fridge by the pool for lots of well chilled bubbly, so there'll be no difficulty in breaking the ice!
The grounds are beautifully kept by the ever-helpful Eduardo, who's occasionally helped out by the friendly ginger cat with the curious name of Chiompiras. Eduardo lives in the tiny cottage opposite Villa Azzurra. He discreetly tends the pool and is happy to make breakfasts to order, clean during your stay and babysit. Eduardo will do his bit to ensure you'll carry home happy memories of sunny Chianti days to warm chilly winter toes.
If you want, we can call in a cook to prepare delicious Tuscan meals to enjoy at home.
Villa Gialla has a magnificent farmhouse kitchen and a long private terrace that runs from the kitchen door to the French doors in the sitting room. You've seen the photos, so you know it's truly charming. Brick floors, oak beams and stylish comfort is what you have here. This villa is on the ground floor, with only a few steps between the sitting room and the bedrooms and their bathrooms.
Villa Azzura is another charming option. Your outdoor dining area is shaded by giant pine trees and Eduardo's own little cottage, and has lovely views across a vineyard, an olive grove and the great sweep of Chianti's rugged hills. Enjoy cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, sleeping in the comfy beds and above all, living in serious Tuscan style. This villa is on several levels to fit comfortably into the old structure. The kitchen and sitting room are on the ground floor, two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are on the upper floor and another two old steps take you to the remaining two bedrooms and their large shared bathroom.
Villa Arancio is next door to Villa Gialla. Obviously it has its own private outdoor space like the other two villas, and though the kitchen is not quite as big as the others, you'll find it's every bit as well equipped. The dining room makes an elegant alternative to eating in the kitchen. Having two sitting rooms makes this villa especially inviting and amply compensates for the slightly smaller bedrooms. Villa Arancio reflects the stylish good taste of the Milanese owner who carefully furnished the villa to please the discerning. It's on two levels with kitchen, dining room and a sitting room on the ground floor. The stairs take you to the upper sitting room (ideal as a study or quiet space) and all four bedrooms and their bathrooms.
The location is pretty fine too. You are nicely tucked away, but by no means isolated. The well stocked Co-op at Greve is 5 km away - not to mention some excellent restaurants and world class wine tasting opportunities. Pop up the road to Impruneta to stock up on fabulous ceramics - everything from seriously smart dinner plates to elegant garden statues and all of it irresistible! Florence is a mere 40 km and lovely Siena only 47. The little village of Panzano in Chianti is just a short drive away - you really must drop by and sample Dario's locally produced steaks and sausages. He's also opened "McDario" with that typical Tuscan dry wit - but his butcher's shop and his restaurant have absolutely nothing in common with your average burger joint. The entire area is studded with gems - from fine wines to gourmet food to fashion shopping at the outlets - a fortnight will barely give you time to scratch the surface.
Having finally found them, you may find these exceptionally characterful villas become a fixed point in planning your future Tuscan holidays. They make a perfect base for sightseeing explorations and are unbeatable when it comes to chilling by the pool to soak up the sun in Chianti's sparklingly pure air!
