Luigi is the project director for Villa Decugnano and will be delighted to arrange for the helicopter to pick you up at the airport or he’ll happily send a car and chauffeur. If you decide you’d rather come in your own car, or pick up a hire car, that’s fine too - whatever would please you best.

When you arrive, you’ll be shown the house and the pool, settled comfortably in, drinks will be poured for you and dinner will be served by candlelight when you are ready to eat. Luigi and his Team will ensure this holiday starts as it intends to go on - in delicious, spoiling indulgence! Your chef will be on hand with menu suggestions each day. He’ll take your orders for breakfast, a light lunch and dinner, or he’ll hand everything over to you if you have an urge to do the cooking in your shining, professional kitchen. This holiday is all about doing it your way! If you want a massage or a facial, or have an urge to gallop the hills, Luigi will arrange it for you. If you want to lounge by the pool in perfect tranquility, Luigi and his team will ensure that’s exactly what happens. As you can see from our photos, it’s a lovely villa, set high in the hills above Lake Corbara. You are a 15 minute drive from Orvieto, with its ornate cathedral, and 50 minutes drive from ancient Perugia, Umbria’s capital city. The estate covers 140 beautiful acres, at an altitude of 320 metres above sea level. It’s an oasis for wildlife and wild flowers: porcupines and hares are common sights. The special microclimate means the house is never too hot and never too cold - though naturally there’s a huge open fireplace, central heating and air conditioning just in case! The location is ideal for grapes: in fact, they've been grown on these chalky hills for well over two thousand years. The Decugnano dei Barbi estate produces a range of world class wines for you to try. Claudio’s honeyed velvet Pourriture Noble is ideal with a sliver of Luigi’s favourite almond cake for a happy meditation on the stunning flavours of Umbria as the sun sets on yet another perfect day at Villa Decugnano.
