Three stylish country apartments just 5 km outside Todi

I Corboli is a handsome Umbrian farmhouse with two barns, which have
been turned into a collection of five very agreeable apartments. Summer’s
Leases is offering three of the apartments in the main house.
This 18th century farmhouse is a great place to meet other families
and make friends for your children to play with. A barn near the house
is purpose-built to break the ice; you’ll find ping-pong, table
football, dozens of chairs and a notice board full of postcards from
happy clients. If the large pool, with its hydromassage area, seems
too boring (but how could it possibly be!), the kids can use the free
mountain bikes to explore the local lanes, feed the handsome golden
pheasants in their pen or hold a football tournament.
Should
parents feel like a treat, the owners will happily organise a babysitter
so you can pop up to Todi for a romantic meal without the offspring.
We’d recommend the excellent Umbria for the stunning views from
their terrace – but book ahead – or there are details
of a splendid little trattoria in our House Book should you
prefer something a bit less touristy and a touch more modestly priced.
I Corboli goes out of its way to offer a high standard of accommodation,
with lots of options for the kids and genuine relaxation for the overworked
parent too.
Our
three apartments are very similar, but this doesn’t mean they
suffer from a lack of imagination or commitment to their rustic origins.
You’ll find solid oak beams, traditional terracotta floors and typically Umbrian furniture. These are comfortable, characterful
apartments. Summer’s Leases has no truck with your average poky
shoebox! The ground floor front doors of each apartment open into
large and pretty sitting rooms, each with an old stone fireplace and
ample dining area. The kitchen areas are practical and smartly equipped
with an electric oven, stainless steel sink, gas hob, and fridge-freezer. Terracotta stairs lead up to the first floor, where you’ll
find two very attractive bedrooms and a sparkling, modern bathroom.
A
superb choice with Todi just waiting for you on its proud hill.
The apartments were very pretty and comfy, pool very well maintained. Federica and her family/ friends were all very pleasant and welcoming. Federica’s mother’s pasta lunches were very much appreciated and delicious! Rob
and Beccy Mason, Leicester. The house was beautifully rustic as well as being practical for a family holiday. It was perfectly clean, as was the entire estate in fact, including the pool, and fairly well equipped with one or two minor exceptions. The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming and kind. Throughout our stay we were frequently presented with fresh fruit and veg, and some delicious home cooking, including a special anniversary marmalade tart on our last day! Federica also arranged and accompanied me on a trip to the local doctor when our daughter was poorly. Federica and Signora Rita clearly love children and we felt so very at home and at ease if we needed to ask for anything. It was a wonderful introduction to Umbrian life and hospitality, and we’d love to return. Finally, just to say that it really is a real pleasure to book a holiday with ‘real’ people who are genuinely interested in you having the best time possible. All booking and confirmation procedures are good, and the three of you have been a joy to deal with! Hope these comments are helpful! Sue,
Simon, Sam, Rosanna and Eleanor Beale, Hertfordshire. We loved I Corboli! Our apartment was spacious and well furnished, the pool was one of the nicest we have enjoyed on many villa holidays in Italy and we have never experienced hospitality of the kind provided by Frederica and her mother, Rita. Fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden, our children doing odd-jobs with Frederica every day on the farm, and sometimes delicious, unannounced lunches cooked by Rita. We did lots of sightseeing - Rome (very convenient by train from Orvieto), Todi, Orvieto, Roman site at Carsulae (excellent for picnics), Perugia and Spoleto but the best part was relaxing and reading by the pool. Directions to I Corboli were excellent. Mark Pettit, London SW11. We had an amazing time. The hospitality, home and pool couldn’t be faulted. The homemade wine, pasta and liqueur were wonderful. We can’t wait to return and have already recommended this to several friends. Thanks again!!!! Marcia, Kevin, Jamie and Adam Ockrim, Glasgow. Once again we had a fabulous time at I Corboli. Federica and Rita treat us like part of the family and couldn’t be kinder. Every year we go, further improvement have been made like really nice outdoor furniture and a barbeque for each apartment this year. Frances Lawlor, Chorley. As regular visitors to Italian villas/apartments we found Il Corboli excellent in all areas. Spacious grounds catering for all ages, including teenagers-table tennis, reading area, well maintained pool with super sun loungers and shaded gazebos and above all the hosts, Frederica and her mother Rita, could not have been more helpful. Frederica spoke English which helped when we wanted to find a golf course!! Rita provided us with pasta meals at various points during our stay and Frederica was extremely generous when she gave us fresh fruit and veg from her garden. The position of Il Corboli is central to many local attractions and hill top villages with super views for the budding artist. All in all a relaxing and wonderful Italian experience. Martin and Sue Lockney, Stockton-on-Tees. Central location, good communication links and very hospitable owners. The house was refurbished 8 years ago but everything still looks new. Nice rooms, good level of fittings, great pool and sunbeds. We’ll definitely go back. Mike Reeder, Nottingham. Very good. Nice people running it and always on hand to help. Very high standard of accommodation and facilities. We would have no hesitation in going back or to recommend to friends and relatives. C&N Nevin, Suffolk. |
