Description

This lovely 3 bedroomed country villa is in the beautiful Garfagnana region of Northern Tuscany, set in a valley between the Appenine and Apuane Mountains.

The new swimming pool is 12 x 5 metres and attached is a 3 x 3 metre shallow pool, perfect for children or just lazing in - with a book. Enjoy the sun and the views from the large furnished sun deck and pergola. The separate dining terrace is conveniently outside the kitchen and also has fantastic view of the local mountains and villages.
Casa Natalina is situated off the rural road to the village of Pianacci at the end of a lane shared with two other houses.

Casa Natalina is very well equipped and comfortably furnished, with traditional chestnut beamed ceilings and tiled floors. There a spacious double (large king bed) and two twin bedrooms, all with views, a spacious sitting room with double doors to balcony, open fireplace, TV, DVD player, terracotta flooring, beamed ceiling and open fireplace.

The large dining kitchen is fully equipped for even the keenest of cooks and leads on to a fine outdoor dining patio with sun umbrella and BBQ. There are 2 large shower/bathrooms one which has a patio door on to the balcony. The second large sun patio and garden to the front of the house has outdoor furniture, a hammock and is shaded in part by fruit trees.

The owner has a share in a vineyard and a supplies complementary chianti wine to the guests.

Garfagnana is 'Hidden Tuscany' at its best. With its stunning scenery it is the best area in Tuscany for walking and outdoor activities.

Castelnuovo, the nearby market town, has many restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets and all other types of shops. There is a tourist information office and a weekly market selling a wide variety of fashion, household goods, flowers, fruit and vegetables.

Mountain biking, hill walking and horse riding are all available locally. We have 2 mountain bikes which guests are welcome to use.

There is a tennis court open to the public only 10 minutes walk away with a cafe/bar. There is a new restaurant in the village which is a 20 minute walk away. The local lake and picnic area is a 5 minute walk and fishing is available.

The area around the village of Villa Collemandina is without doubt one of the most beautiful parts of all Tuscany.

Susan and Andy 'Friends of Tuscany' are the perfect hosts of their charming house in the most perfect location. Their experience as travelers as well as hosts means that everything has been thought of leaving you free to relax, explore and enjoy this most beautiful area. I have been visiting the Garfagnana for several years and each year the area unveils a new treasure while I also delight in the familiar. Best bit, picking fresh figs for breakfast after a morning dip in the pool, worst bit, leaving.

We had a lovely stay celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, the villa was great with everything we needed and the lovely new pool, the views stunning. We visited lots of local villages and enjoyed some superb walks. We followed the advice and recommendations provided by friends of Tuscany and appreciated all your guidance. Wish we could rewind and enjoy it all again!, we will just have to come back someday. Thank you Andrew and Susan for making our special holiday unforgettable.

The panorama from the house is stunning. The pool is lovely and we wished we were staying longer. Lots of hillside villages and pleasant walks and not too far from places like Florence or Lucca for a day trip.

We just had a week at Casa Natalia - my wife, me and our two teenage boys. It's a really nice old house, in a little collection of houses, really well furnished with a lot of charm, in an absolutely stunning location. There are incredible mountain views all round and the excellent new pool helped us enjoy the heatwave! Andrew was very helpful, the local area is beautiful, the local food is great, this really has been one of the best places we have visited anywhere in the world - it's peaceful, incredibly beautiful and very well maintained and set up. First class!

We have stayed many times in property booked through Friends of Tuscany and have always been delighted with the service, cleanliness and facilities. Casa Natalina is outstanding .. a sympatheticaly restored property with everything you need. Both patio seating areas are delightful but the highlight for us is the stunning view looking from the front of the house over the pool to the mountains.

We booked this villa for a week in June. The owners kindly left is a welcome package including wine, pasta, bread and milk :-) wonderful surprise especially as we arrived late with two hungry little ones. It's beautifully finished, rustic but high quality. The grounds are spacious and perfect for kids to run around and explore. The pool is big and clean and a lovely temperature. the location is unbeatable and the views are to die for. I have no hesitation in recommending Andy or his company and the properties they represent. We also rented another property from them, both unbeatable. Excellent.

We really liked our two-week stay at Casa Natalina. The house is situated in a quiet environment, and you really live in Italy without seeing tourists every day. The swimming pool is cleaned twice a week, and has beautifull views. Our children (7 and 10) loved picking and eating figs in the garden. WiFi was fast and reliable, so you can be online and connected to the world if you like. The TV had about 70 channels, although all in Italian, but we did not miss watching TV at all. We all slept very well in the good and clean beds. The owner provides the house with a lot of towels, so there is no need to bring your own. The house is large enough for 6 people (we were 4). The weather in July 2012 was excellent to swim each day for many hours.

Very beautiful. Although off the beaten track but very nice clean house with great garden in a nice area. Nice kitchen, super living room and the garden is a dream. A great welcome package was there when we arrived for us. This is a very great gesture.

Case Natalina was a lovely house, a little quirky in its layout and we all kept going to the downstairs bathroom instead of the stairs which became a family joke. The new pool is a triumph, Remo and Massimo keep it looked after and were very thoughtful in not hammering fencing when the baby was asleep. The situation is so beautiful that we hardly went out, just essential shopping and a trip to Corrine across the valley where we had a fabulous view of the house. It was a little disappointing that we couldn't walk to a restaurant but that in no way diminished our enjoyment of a truly great holiday. We did go to Luca on our way home which is a super place. One tip though, leave the car outside the walls! All in all a great holiday and we hope to return.
